Diamondback Mason 27.5&Quot; Mountain Bike -- 2016

"Diamondback Mason 27.5 Mountain Bike -- 2016. The Diamondback Mason is almost an ironic experiment in mountain biking. In the age of bike specialization, it's increasingly rare to see a bike like the Mason that can do so many things well. It has one foot in the backcountry as a big-wheeled, hardtail explorer and one foot in the world of downhill. This low-slung cannonball's slack geometry serves you well, no matter your ultimate purpose. The Mason is a trail bike for today's mountain bikers. Versatile, trail tough, and features gobs of travel to handle nearly any descent. Already an established leader in the slack hardtail category, the Mason's new 27.5 configuration means significant gains in traction and wheel stiffness, with very little loss from the 29 wheel on previous models. If you've ridden a previous incarnation of the Mason, this may be hard to believe, but it's true. Diamondback made sure to keep the ride characteristics as similar as they could: the butted and formed aluminum frame is low-slung and slack, with a 120mm Rockshox Reba fork. The ride has stayed distinctly all-mountain, especially with the increase in traction from running this wide of a tire (2.9!). Avid hydraulic brakes, a wide-range 210 SRAM X5/X7 drivetrain, and wide bars deliver superior performance, even after continued pummeling from technical singletrack. The Mason rolls on a durable set of tubeless compatible DB wheels with aforementioned Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.9 wide tires."
