Diamondback Podium E'tape Road Bike - 2017

"Diamondback Podium E'Tape Road Bike - 2017. The Diamondback Podium E'tape Road Bike has been completely redesigned for even better performance, improved comfort, and incorporating the latest advances in aerodynamics. The original podium took the cycling world by pleasant surprise when it was launched several years ago. The high-end carbon fiber frame, excellent performance, and high level of finishing detail was a little unexpected from a company more known for BMX and mountain bikes, and many remarked that it was one of the best bikes they'd ever ridden. But after a full season as bike sponsors to the Optum Pro Cycling Presented By Kelly Benefits pro team, Diamondback has taken their feedback to create a bike that's even better. At the heart of every great bike is an exceptional frame, and the new Podium is no exception. The new Podium frame is made with the Advanced Monocoque Molding Process SLP carbon fiber construction method, which uses over 300 individual pieces of carbon laminate to create a bike that is optimized for long, fast rides. By using varying levels of carbon fiber throughout the frame, Diamondback's engineers have been able to tune various areas of the bike for different ride characteristics, so the headtube and bottom bracket are stiffer, while the seatstays and seattube are a little more compliant to improve comfort. The result is a sub-900 gram frame that rides like nothing else on the road. Compliant and comfortable over rough surfaces, yet stiff and fast during climbing or out of the saddle sprints. The shape of the frame is also another new feature for the new model. While the original Podium used a more traditional double-diamond frame with shaped tubes, the new Podium adapts many of the latest advances in aerodynamics. With blunted kamm tail-shaped tubes that slice through the wind while preserving rigidity, improved integration between the frame and fork to smooth airflow, and bowed seatstays that are borrowed from Diamondback's Serios TT bikes for improved aerodynamics, everything about the podium is made to go fast. The Podium still uses a traditional round 27.2mm seatpost, but eliminates the traditional collar in favor of a compression plug to improve aerodynamics and preserve the clean lines of the bike. All internal cable routing is compatible with both mechanical and electronic drivetrains, and the seattube is compatible with both Di2 and EPS internal batteries, and even includes a hidden port for the EPS charging interface, should you be lucky enough to need it. A great frame is nothing without great components, and this is where the Podium E'tape really comes into its own. A Shimano 105 5800 drivetrain delivers the best value in mechanical shifting performance available. With all new lever ergonomics, an improved lever throw action, redesigned front derailleur lever arm, 105 5800 closes the performance gap between the ultralight pro-level mechanical stuff and the groupset for the everyman , and has set a new ind"
